Housing for People not Profit

In early February members of Collective Action set up a stall and spoke to people about the housing crisis in the city, calling for the council to take action. We also joined ACORN in a solidarity action in Hanover in support of an 80 year old resident facing a no fault eviction.
Winter Fuel Payment Petition

Collective Action Brighton & Hove created a petition in October. The petition had received 1365 signatures by December 2nd, beating our 1250 target. The petition was presented to Brighton & Hove Council on December 17th.
Housing Assembly

Collective Action heard from tenants and activists about the issues they have faced and possible solutions. We also heard from ACORN’s Poppy Burt about its work to defend tenants, and the housing lawyer Nick Bano, author of Against Landlords.
Practical Anti-Racism Assembly
A Community Assembly where we discussed the root causes and solutions to the recent right wing riots. Speakers included Anti-Fascist Brighton, Anti-Raids Brighton, Stand Up to Racism and Dr Aisha El-Turki.
